Silk Road Oasis is a non-profit organization and regional network dedicated to improving the quality of public education as well as supporting underprivileged children in Xinjiang, China. While many organizations target general education in China, no national organization focuses on the specifics in Xinjiang. Recognizing Xinjiang’s unique needs defined by its unique ethnic culture, we seek to educate children to their fullest potential by empowering them through personal independence and social responsibility. By spreading these values, we hope the children will contribute to our society by making decisions based on the highest order of ethics and reason.
Silk Road Oasis greatly values our existing relationships with local governments, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, sponsoring companies and volunteering individuals.
We believe the combined effort and united belief of a diverse partnership is fundamental for bringing real change in Xinjiang. In order to further extend our outreach and increase the rate of our implementation, we hope to grow this partnership bigger by connecting with even more organizations, cooperations and individuals. Through regional analysis, school targeting, government dialog, educational institution discussion, sponsor/volunteer support, and project implementation, we aim to create a dynamic and sustainable growth model of both supporting underprivileged children as well as implementing new education philosophies such as Montessori. Silk Road Oasis is the first international non-profit organization targeted specifically to Xinjiang, with its project team members spanning across the United States, Hong Kong, as well as Mainland China.
Since its founding, Silk Road Oasis has successfully implemented Montessori education to local schools in Xinjiang, benefiting over 1000 students today. We have also successfully launched serveral other educational projects such as donating basic facilities to local schools as well as establishing mentorship program connecting our children in Xinjiang to motivated individuals around the world.
